Communications-Electronics Manager

The Communications-Electronics Manager will report directly to the Site Manager. This position is located at Beale AFB, California. The Communications-Electronics Manager is directly responsible for planning, managing and directing the overall activities of the Computer, Radar, Satellite Communication, Local Area Network, and Supply work centers. The management objectives directly complement all work center tasks including logistics supervision necessary to meet the site's operational requirements. Major emphasis is to ensure contractor controlled availability rates meet or exceed Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements; site reporting is accomplished flawlessly, and critical system failures are rapidly and accurately reported, and quickly resolved.

Educational/Training Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • Civilian or Air Force completion of radar electronics system course
  • Five years’ experience in phased array radar maintenance or RF transmissions

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in radar electronics systems or equivalent
  • Experience with SSPARS and large phased array radars

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and directs work center activities in support of operational requirements.
  • Supervises all requirements and space surveillance support functions to satisfactory performance levels.
  • Assist in analysis of system outages and operations degradations.
  • Ensure mission communications availability, operations, maintenance, and performance analyses are performed.
  • Assist in failure degradation analysis and develop corrective actions to prevent further operational degradation.
  • Provides day to day guidance and supervision to the logistics and supply branch to ensure full support to both the communications-electronics and civil engineering divisions.
  • Acts as site POC for all Deport Level Maintenance (UDLM, EDLM, EA) events.
  • Follow and support all Safety and Security regulations and policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.

Supervision:

  • The Communications-Electronics Manager works under the general supervision of the Site Manager.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Be able to negotiate multiple sets of stairs without assistance, climb ladders up to fifteen feet, work with high voltages, and can distinguish colors.

Physical Demands:

  • Walking, siting, typing, bending and lifting items as required within position requirements.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.
